    Note: Global Business Track [GBT] at MBA Chulalongkorn University is the same program as Master of Global Business Program [MGB] at University of Victoria and University of Glasgow.

    Experience three continents in one year.

    Enhance your capability and flexibility to adapt to dynamic global business environment.

    MBA Chula is pleased to offer a new path for global business learning. It offers a candidate with 2.5 years program that we partner with two top business schools: University of Victoria, Canada and University of Glasgow, Scotland.

    The program is uniquely designed with the right combination of applied learning, business practice, and international experience. Ten distinguished students from MBA Chula will join with thirty students from University of Victoria and University of Glasgow.

    After completing the MBA core courses at Chula in the first year, a global cohort will spend about three months in each country together progressing through three modules: Global Business Fundamentals, Global Business Opportunities and Global Business in Action.

     

  • Study Plan

    Plan 1

    • Eligible for Regular, English and Young-Executive/1 Program
    • Option: Spring to Summer semester, Year 2 (Jan-August)
    • Notice: MBA program requires you to take an Independent Study exam and Comprehensive exam in Fall semester of Year 3.

     

    Plan 2

    • Eligible for Young-Executive/2 and Executive Program

    There are two options:

     

    • Option 1 Spring to Summer semester, Year 2 (Jan-August)
    • Notice:MBA program requires you to take M6 and M7 with Young executive /1 program (weekend classes). In addition, you have to take an Independent Study exam and Comprehensive exam in Spring semester of Year 3.

    • Option 2 Spring to Summer semester, Year 3 (Jan-August)
    • Notice: MBA program requires you to take Independent Study exam in Summer of Year 2 and Comprehensive exam in Fall semester of Year 3.

     

  • Program Curriculum

    Module 1: University of Victoria

      • North American Business Context
        This course examines the socio-economic and legal factors that impact on doing business in North America. Topics include the Canadian Business context, legal system, human rights and employment legislation, labour practices and taxation issues. In addition, students are exposed to trade relationship between Canada, United States and Mexico (NAFTA).

     

      • International Finance Management
        This course introduces the functioning of international financial markets with a focus on developing student’s corporate decision-making for multinational enterprises (MNEs). Topics covered include international monetary systems and the foreign exchange market, currency risk management in MNEs, cross border financing and investing decisions, and the international cost of capital.

     

      • Global Strategy and International Marketing
        This course is intended to provide students with an opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of global strategy and international marketing by analyzing the issues and providing some specific recommendations to solve the problems. Case discussions will comprise a major component of the course.

     

    • International Logistics and Supply Chain Management
      This course aims to help students learn and apply international logistics (IL) and global supply chain management (SCM) concepts and tools. Students are expected to improve their competencies and skills in areas related to IL&SCM and to apply their knowledge to improve global business competitiveness and performance.

    Module 2: University of Glasgow

      • European Business Context
        This course offers an understanding of competitiveness and competition in Europe with a focus upon national and regional policies. It provides an overview of the developments and policies of major European markets and their effects.

     

      • Business Development and Global Innovation
        This course introduces the theories and practices of business development and global innovation management. The course aims to develop conceptual knowledge and practical skills regarding innovation in a global context as well as business development. The course will provide students with the opportunity to investigate trends and examine the potential impact of technology and business planning.

     

    • Business Development and Global Innovation

    Module 3: Chulalongkorn University

      • Asian Business Context
        This course prepares and analyzes the environmental contexts in Asian business. Topics include the geography, history, society, culture, politics, economy, business practices and strategy and management practices in Asia.

     

      • Consulting Methods
        This course provides an overview of the process of management consulting; introduces students to consulting methods to help them gain knowledge of consulting and to highlight specific consulting and research skills. Topics include concept and foundation of consulting; roles, functions, and responsibilities of consultants; important knowledge and skill for a consultant; experience in consulting.

     

    • International Consulting Project
      This course provides students with the opportunity to examine the application of knowledge in different aspects by conducting organization consulting using teams comprised of different nationalities and cultures.

    Run through all modules

      • Language, Communication, and Global Business
        A critical course for students who determine to work in multi-cultural teams and lead in international business contexts. This course aims to examine the relationship between language, thought, and culture and how to utilize cross cultural communication skills and virtual communication tools to enhance student’s capacity to be a global communicator.

     

    • Global Leadership and Cultural Intelligence
      This course is intended to provide students with an understanding of the challenges of interacting, managing and leading people from various cultural and national backgrounds when conducting business in a global context. The course begins with cultural issues and challenges at the interpersonal level. It then proceeds to the cultural challenges faced by firms as they move along the internationalization process, from exporters to multinational organizations.

    A candidate who is interested in Global Business Track must have the following qualifications:

    • Hold a bachelor degree in any field of study
    • Meet required number of work experience after receiving bachelor degree (referring to the Graduation Date on the Transcript until August 1st of Academic Year) – at least 1 year for regular and English programs – at least 3 years for young executive program
    • CU-BEST or GMAT is required. 
    • For a non-native English speaker, any of the English proficiency test score is required:
      – CU-TEP with mininum score 70
      – TOEFL with mininum score 70
      – IELTS with mininum score 6.5

    * All the test scores must be valid until August 1 of Academic Year

  • FEE

    Students are required to pay regular tuition fee at Chula and must be individually responsible for their personal expenses such as travel, accommodation, health insurance, etc.

    As a rough guide, the approximated living costs in Victoria is $1,055/month and living costs in Glasgow is £950/month.

  • Application Process

    • A candidate must submit an application form for Global Business Track, along with “cover sheet” and other required documents in the first round of MBA Program application.
    • Candidates who have been shortlisted for GBT will be invited for interview.
