On June 29, 2024 MBA students from Regular and English Program embarked on a field trip to Suan Sampran, Nakhon Pathom Province. They learned from Khun Arus Nawarach, the manager of Suan Sampran and founder of Sampran Model and Sukjai Market, about Social Contribution Business’ and ‘Business Development.’

Khun Arus recounted the origins of the ‘Sampran Model,’ aimed at addressing imbalances in the food system caused by agricultural chemical usage, pricing practices by middlemen, and waste management processes, all of which impact health, environment, society, and economy. The ‘Sampran Model’ focuses on organic farming to create value, safety, and connections between farmers and consumers at fair prices. It promotes learning and collaboration among farmers, entrepreneurs, and consumers, stimulating positive societal change.

Afterwards, they visited Patom Organic Farm to observe practices of organic farming, including rice planting, rice husking, learning herbal insect repellent techniques, vermicompost production, and organic waste management.

In the afternoon, the students participated in workshops to create organic products such as herbal inhaler, aromatherapy massage oil, organic rice scrub, and visited Sukjai Market, a venue selling products from farmers involved with the Sampran Model where they able to directly support for organic societal initiatives.
